The Meal #2: Brazil

‘The Meal’ is an ongoing project that works with different communities building relationships with food, encouraging creativity and working as a team.

The aim of this project is to see how a group of people can collectively work together to create a meal. The challenge is to consider all areas of the eating process, including using the ingredients supplied to replace crockery and cutlery.   This encourages communication with other 'cooks' to share their skills in the areas of making and cooking.

Due to the variety of locations in the world; Brazil, Indonesia and the UK. The cuisine changes from group to group, discovering different processes and interesting combinations stemming from personal knowledge of food.

The events are one way the studio works with local communities, both as stand alone events that are products in themselves and as part of an on going body of cultural research that continues to inform the practice of the studio.
